With AI technology and a personality-based algorithm, CharacTour helps consumers find what they’ll love to watch, read, and play.

CharacTour’s secret sauce: users get matched to their “personality cohort” of like-minded people based on an interactive quiz. Recommendations for characters, actors, movies, TV shows, books, and video games are made based on the preferences of a user’s personality cohort.

The Science

CharacTour’s personalization technology has been awarded U.S. Patent No. 10,419,820 and US Patent No. 11,284,158. The patents recognize our key technology differentiator: recommending entertainment based on who you are, not only what you've watched in the past.

CharacTour users become fans (akin to a Facebook “like”) of characters and titles. From users’ quiz answers and their likes, CharacTour analyzes the personalities that are attracted to each character and title.

CharacTour’s proprietary data is analyzed in depth using statistical techniques including cosine similarity and logistic regression.
